HARP AND PIANO INSTRUCTION

I graduated with honors from Life Journey Academy Homeschool in 2011, and began teaching piano and harp lessons Fall of 2010.  I have completed several music theory and composition courses while in High School at Faith Baptist Bible College, as well as a sophomore level teaching course.  In 2010, I participated in a 3-week music class that included sessions on teaching music to children. I enjoy helping others learn to love music and to see God's order in music.  I desire to encourage students to use their music abilities to honor and praise the LORD.  I believe that the goal in learning music is to glorify the LORD with our entire heart. I try to incorporate that focus in music lessons.  The music books that I use for both piano and harp use hymns and Christian music, as well as classical pieces to teach music. I have experience with a Computer Software composition program called Sibelius 6 and can teach both music theory and composition if desired.  

Here are a few specifics about lessons:

• Discounts for more than 2 children and/or instruments in one family
• $10 per one half hour lesson
• Lessons weekly (with some flexibility) about 3-4 per month
• First lesson will be 30-60 minutes complimentary for parent and child.
• Lessons at my home
• Emphasis on the theory of music in lessons (ie how music works)
• End of the year recital opportunity
